The Property Management Division of Highways and Public Works manages the Yukon government portfolio of buildings to facilitate departmental service delivery. We provide asset management, portfolio management, realty services, project management, maintenance and operations services. We employ tradespeople, architects, engineers, labourers, administrators, and more; there are a variety of exciting career opportunities in the Property Management Division.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Property Management Division, you will be responsible for leading, directing, organizing, planning and delivering all Yukon government Real Property construction for the territory. In this position, you will be a key member of the senior management team, participating in the development and delivery of Division and departmental policies, programs and strategies.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume, clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications.

Degree in architecture or a building-related engineering discipline: mechanical, electrical, structural or other related discipline;

Extensive experience project-managing building construction;

Experience providing strategic advice, direction and recommendations to senior management;

Experience leading a team of professionals, including managing human and financial resources (preferably in a multi-project environment).

Candidates who have education, training and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

Ability to evaluate cost of construction, feasibility and suitability for desired application;

Ability to negotiate contracts and resolve disputes with consultants and contractors.

Condition of Employment: Valid Class 5 Yukon Driver’s Licence 

Job Requirement: Travel throughout Yukon and Canada
