Approvals Engineer

If you want to aid in protecting, enhancing and sustaining public health and the environment through ensuring the sound design, construction and management of drinking water and wastewater systems, this job is for you!

You’ll be part of the team that ensures drinking water and wastewater infrastructure in Saskatchewan is built according to provincial regulations. You’ll review project designs, issue permits for construction, inspect water and sewage infrastructure and work with communities and consultants to find solutions to infrastructure issues. You’ll handle applications from all over the province, becoming familiar with a great variety of projects and technologies, from time tested standards, to new and emerging designs. Approvals Engineers are part of our large team that protects public health and our environment.

You will work among a diverse and passionate team of professionals from fields including engineering, water quality, ecology, law, sociology, and public policy to name a few, that are leading this exciting challenge in our province.

The successful candidate should possess a Degree in Environmental Engineering or similar discipline with a focus on drinking water and wastewater treatment, a license to practice professional engineering from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), and at least 4 years of directly related experience in the design, construction and/or evaluation of drinking water and wastewater facilities. 

Note:  Applicants with the required education but lesser experience may be considered for an Engineer-in-Training position at a lower management classification.  Applicants with the required education and more than 6 years of directly related experience may be considered for a Senior Engineer position at a higher management classification.
