The University is seeking a new leader to guide the Faculty through the next phase of its evolution.

Reporting to the Vice-President and Provost, the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering will be a distinguished academic and researcher appointable at the rank of Full Professor, who will have a broad understanding of, and appreciation for, the range of scholarship within the Faculty. Among other responsibilities, the Dean will effectively manage resources, encourage world-leading research and interdisciplinary collaboration, nurture mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and promote scholarly excellence and pedagogical innovation.  The Dean will further U of T’s mission to prepare students for a lifetime of success and fulfillment by advancing the University’s commitment to re-inventing undergraduate education in a research-intensive context, including developing a range of new curricular and co-curricular options and learning opportunities.   The Dean will also provide visionary and innovative leadership, encourage collegiality and collaboration, and empower the highly productive and committed group of faculty, staff, and students that can be found in the Faculty. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of consultative and decisive leadership, be an excellent communicator and motivator and a champion for matters of diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility, and be a person of unassailable integrity and character.
