Engineering Instructors & Lab Technologists

CBU invites applications for full-time permanent and full-time limited term appointments in the Engineering Department at the ranks of Instructor (Ref: IN1811) and Laboratory Technologist (Ref: LAB1811) to commence January 2019.

Candidates for Instructor positions should have a graduate degree in Engineering (or Applied Science) and be eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia. As well, related industry experience and/or teaching experience in a post-secondary environment is required. Candidates with a B.Eng. and P.Eng. status along with related industry experience and/or teaching experience in a post-secondary environment will also be considered.

Candidates for Lab Technologist positions should have a closely related Bachelor’s degree with related experience.

For both Instructor and Lab Technologist positions, candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Industrial Instrumentation
  • Industrial Process Control
  • Environmental Engineering & Design
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Petroleum Processes & Extraction
  • Manufacturing or Mechanical Design
  • Process Engineering
  • Engineering Thermodynamics & Energy
  • Engineering Fluid Mechanics
  • Fundamental Engineering Science
  • Engineering Management & Economics

Successful candidates will be responsible for the delivery of courses, laboratory exercises, and related duties within the Bachelor of Engineering Diploma program and the Bachelor of Engineering Technology Degree program.

CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across Canada, on-line, and off campus in locations outside Canada. The university and its partners will therefore provide opportunities for faculty to teach in different modes in different locations as part of their regular workload. While these opportunities may not be available equally for all positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.

The union affiliation for this position is with the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union, local 18, Teachers Bargaining Unit.
