We are seeking experienced professionals and new graduates for the following positions:

 

Materials Engineers

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Materials Engineering (Metallurgy).  P. Eng. accreditation or eligibility.

 

Provide technical support to Materials and Inspection Services teams. Identify & implement reliability & safety improvement initiatives and drive positive change using knowledge of materials engineering, welding & inspection techniques.  Review M&IS reports & recommendations to ensure alignment with business objectives.

 

Mining Engineers [New Grads]

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Mining Engineering plus 0-3 years of experience; strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office; P. Eng. accreditation or eligibility; Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.

 

Develop your career on a Mine/Tailings planning team responsible for planning and scheduling the daily movement of 2 million tonnes of material. Apply your skills to development assignments including: Short-Range Tailings Planning; Short-Range Mine Planning; Long-Range Mine & Tailings Planning; and Heavy Equipment operation.

 

Chemical Engineers

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Chemical Engineering plus minimum 5 years of experience. P. Eng. accreditation or eligibility. Ability to apply engineering theory and skills in material & energy balance, fluid flow, and hydraulic calculations and thermodynamics.

 

As a member of the Operations Support Dept., provide day-to-day process technical support to site operations through process technical leadership and excellence to ensure flawless unit operations. Perform routine unit monitoring, exception identification and technical trouble-shooting. Support the identification, management and resolution of process safety technical risks to ensure safe, environmentally responsible, reliable and profitable operations.

 

 

Mechanical Engineers

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus minimum 5 years of experience. P. Eng. accreditation or eligibility.

 

As a senior Mechanical Engineer for Site Engineering Services, complete development and detailed engineering for expense projects. Manage resolution of key technical issues and work interfaces between the Engineering Contractor staff and key Syncrude Technical staff to ensure that technical issues are resolved.

 

Turnaround Execution Leader

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 5-10 years of experience as Turnaround Execution Leader or experience in Maintenance departments or Project Management. Alberta Interprovincial or Red Seal Journeyman Ticket, or Technologist or Engineer accreditation.

 

Provide leadership to the Turnaround Team during the development, execution and close-out phase of Maintenance Turnaround projects.
