Assistant Professor

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.  We are particularly interested in the areas of mechatronics, robotics, automation and instrumentation. McGill is among the top research intensive academic institutions in Canada, attracting over one-half billion dollars in competitive research funding each year.  It has been consistently ranked in the top 25 universities worldwide in a number of recent surveys.  Successful candidates will play leading roles in maintaining McGill’s international reputation of excellence in research and teaching. 

The Department is committed to excellence in teaching in its undergraduate and graduate programs in Mechanical Engineering and values service contributions of its Faculty members to the University, the profession and society at large.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., preferably with a first degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, and a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching. Evidence of outstanding research achievements, or research potential, is indispensable. Preferred qualifications include dedication to an environment that supports diversity of population and perspectives. Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association is required.
