Principal Accountabilities:

1. In collaboration with the Engineering Information Lead and Leader, Engineering, the coordinator will become a single point of contact for engineering service needs. The key accountabilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Execution of engineering information operational activities
  • KPI metrics creation
  • Engineering education opportunities
  • Internal/external client communication methods
  • Application of intelligent information management system initiatives

2. Under the guidance of the Engineering Information Lead, responsible for improving the service delivery functions seeking opportunities to drive change to the engineering service functions.

3. Utilizes existing resources and creates efficiencies with the support of Information Specialist Lead and the engineering team to improve turnaround times for engineering client submissions and refine document procedures for file management and handling of security-sensitive engineering documents.

4. Collaborates with Information Lead and Leader, Engineering to sponsor changes to the design registration program and to collects stakeholder input to implement successful change management opportunities.

5. Responsible for registration training and creates opportunities to educate internal and external stakeholders on design registration procedures, SOPs, and standards through collaboration with education groups.

6. Enhances the Design Registration webpage with Leader, Engineering and Information Specialist

7. Lead, including, but not limited to, implementing engineering directives and ensuring web published content meet a standards.

8. Accountable for the continued improvement, development, and education of the engineering circulars, bulletins, and directives that drive the design registration program and informs stakeholders of the most up-to-date technical information as it relates to provincial activities and the regulations.

9. Continued professional development by attending training courses, industry networking, and information management peer events or conferences

10. Ongoing career development including visiting Technical Safety BC field staff and conference attendance, and professional association membership.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in an accredited university program (engineering, computer science, science, or equivalent) with a combination of applicable work experience in the field of information systems or document control.
  • Min. 2 years’ experience in document management, engineering, or information management groups
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs used to create reports, presentations, and documents, particularly excel/access complex spreadsheet skills and ability to quickly learn and maintain new computer database applications.
  • A valid Driver’s License in British Columbia is required to visit clients for stakeholders.
