  • Planning and guiding the design, fabrication and installation of ion and electron sources
  • Overseeing the operation and maintenance of off line ion sources (OLIS)
  • Managing maintenance work and supporting developments on the e-linac electron source

You will also be required to successfully complete the TRIUMF in-house radiation safety training course and be designated as a TRIUMF Nuclear Energy Worker.

As our ideal candidate, you have a good knowledge and experience of ion sources and their mechanical and electrical design, and you have:

  • Knowledge and experience in the design of high voltage and high current devices
  • The ability to run modern simulation codes for ion optics, and apply the results
  • Flexibility to work on different projects, and with your working hours depending on operational schedule
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of engineering or applied science combined with at least 5 years of ion source experience after graduation, preferably at an accelerator laboratory/centre or within the industry

While not required, experience with RF driven devices will be considered a definite asset to your application.
