Faculty Member, First Year Engineering
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a full time, continuing status Academic Programming (AP) faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Ron and Jane Graham School of Professional Development, College of Engineering. The successful candidate will be part of a core team responsible for the design, development and implementation of the new first year engineering program incorporating research-informed best practices in course design, teaching and learning methods, approaches to student assessment, and experiential learning opportunities. In addition, the successful candidate will undertake research focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning, as well as carry out relevant administrative activities.
The new first year engineering program will feature a number of innovative elements, including a modular structure with a high degree of alignment in the sequencing and presentation of materials across courses and over the academic year, a competency-based student assessment model, and a focus on active learning strategies. Delivery of the engineering content, along with coordination of the overall program, will be led by a dedicated team of teaching-focused faculty housed within the Ron and Jane Graham School of Professional Development.
