PLC Programmer / Electrical Engineer

The PLC Programmer will bring programming knowledge and PLC logic development experience to help us advance in the HVAC marketplace. You will be responsible for bringing our industrial heat recovery system to life by developing, implementing, troubleshooting PLC, and testing manufactured products. The PLC Programmer will work closely with our Chief Operating Officer and other team members.

JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Focus on PLC logic development involving heat pumps / compressors / pumps / control valves
  • Development of SLD, control schematic, PLC and HMI Programs using P&ID and mechanical designs
  • Setup and configuration of control network architecture between devices and supporting equipment
  • Setup and configuration of data processing
  • Manage Bill of Materials, handle change orders and maintain ERP/MRP systems well organized
  • Work in testing facility, building prototypes, validating and testing designs
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve commissioning methods
  • Demonstrated ability to run test, including instrumentation, data collection and analysis, and correlation with analytical results
  • Support transition of designs to our external manufacturing partners
  • Work effectively on a small, cross-functional team

Skillset:

  • Siemens TIA Portal
  • Various PID control involving VFD drives, servo valves, and motors
  • Electrical SLD and Control Schematic design
  • Being able to understand P&ID and mechanical design
  • Experience in data process networking (SQL, Cloud, etc.)
  • Experience in heat pump and AC manufacturing industry is an asset
  • Experience in data analysis using Python is plus

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering degree with 5+ years of product development experience with Siemens PLC parts in manufacturing environment
  • Registered P. Eng in BC
  • Experience in compressor, pump, and valve control design
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent attendance, work habits, and organizational skills
