Under the general supervision of the Principal Highways Engineer, the post holder will be responsible for the planning, design and construction of highway related projects including preparation of tender and contract documents, site supervision of contractors and direct labour, investigations and feasibility studies for public and private road improvement schemes. The post holder should be a specialist in the area of road design and must be able to interpret codes and establish and maintain the road design details and standards for Bermuda.

 

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Professional Engineer or equivalent. A minimum of three (3) years post-professional designation (CEng, PEng or equivalent) experience with a minimum of seven (7) years overall experience (post qualification BSc, BEng, EIT or equivalent) in mainstream civil engineering with an emphasis on Highways/Road Design Engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Bermuda or equivalent professional engineering body overseas as required for registration under the current Professional Engineer’s Registration Act.
