Capital Engineering Leader

You will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Town’s Capital Engineering team and the operation and administration of Town’s capital engineering program that accommodates growth and asset replacement in a manner that creates a sense of place for both existing and future residents. As part of your portfolio, you will oversee a team of six (6) members that is responsible for the planning, design and construction of Town capital projects; oversee design and construction of developer funded capital projects; establish and administer Town engineering standards; and coordinate activities with the Development Engineering team and with InnServices Utilities Inc. You will further inspire the team and energize employees through leadership, communication and empowerment and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the team and goals of the Town.


We are seeking an intrinsically motivated, engaged and charismatic individual with a University Degree in Civil Engineering and who preferably holds the Professional Engineer’s (P.Eng) designation from the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario (APEO) and who has a minimum of two years in a management position plus an additional eight years of practical and demonstrated relevant public/private sector experience. Significant demonstrated experience in civil engineering in a public works/municipal water/wastewater/storm/transportation environment is required, as is supervisory experience in a unionized environment.  A Valid Class G driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle to use for corporate business is required as is the availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required, on an often/frequent basis. Salary range of $98,230.00-$119,399.00 per annum.
