The Opportunity:

Are you passionate about working in a world class mining facility? Our Albian Mine Technology group is currently looking for a Mine Engineer with expertise in Fleet Management Systems and wireless networks to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize Albian’s Modular DISPATCH fleet management system and other technological solutions supporting mine operations, maintenance and technical teams. By providing feedback and analysis of the various KPI and targets, you will enable the mine management team to make informed decisions based on actual operating performance.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Administration the Modular DISPATCH fleet management system
  • Support mine operations in managing the dispatch and radio system for optimal mine performance
  • Coordinate the maintenance of the mine wireless network to ensure robust performance
  • Develop and maintain mine production reporting and interface with operations and maintenance groups to provide analysis of operations
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to assess and implement technology systems on the mine equipment fleet
  • Develop in house technical expertise to assist in troubleshooting and maintaining on-board hardware systems
  • Increase the net present value of the Albian asset through optimization of the operating cost reductions

  • Job location: Albian Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 8 x 6  – 10 hour days

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering and registered or eligible for registration with APEGA
  • 5+ years of experience utilizing a Mine Fleet Management System
  • 5+ years of experience in a mine, open pit oil sands is preferred
  • Modular DISPATCH, AVI and Cisco radio experience would be an asset
  • Experience using mine design CAD programs would be an asset
  • Class 5 driver’s license with no known driving limitations
