Engineering Sales

The sales engineer is responsible to provide our client's assistance to develop solutions that ensure quality, cost, and efficiency requirements are met, utilizing Swagelok products and services where appropriate. 

The sales engineer will also serve as a resource and subject matter expert to our client's engineering teams. This position works closely with clients in designing systems, troubleshooting problems with production, taking corrective action, and building relationships with them and other stakeholders.  This will involve traveling to and spending time at a variety of customer sites including refineries, petrochemical, offshore oil and gas platforms, shipbuilding, OEM’s and more. 

Qualified candidates need a minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering role.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Located in Saint John NB, and reporting to the Regional Field Engineer, the candidate will support the engineering requirements for client projects, including:

Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed drawings and specifications for their review and approval.

Work with our team to create 2D/3D models 

Help clients review risks, process & equipment specification documents.

Manage time effectively, focusing on opportunities with the best return on investment

 

Basic Qualifications:

B.Sc. or M.Sc. Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

 4-6 years of progressive engineering experience

Firsthand knowledge about operations within one of oil and gas/ chem/petrochemical, refining, nuclear or shipbuilding would be an asset

Knowledgeable about current industry standards for the design and construction in their current or past field of experience

 Proven problem-solving abilities, including business acumen to use the right resources on the right opportunity at the right time

 Working knowledge of drawing tools such as Solid works

 Ability to travel and a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract are required

Confident communicator with strong presentation skills

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite

The successful candidate's primary workspace will be our Sales/Engineering office in uptown Saint John, NB with regular travel to client sites across Atlantic Canada and possibly Ontario.
