MetOcean Telematics is a global telemetry leader offering innovative voice, data, and web-based solutions tailored for applications in aviation, transportation, maritime, environmental research, personal safety, and safety at sea. They design, enable, produce, and support end-to-end telematic products and services on the global Iridium® satellite network. 

MetOcean Telematics has a long and successful history in the design and production of meteorological and oceanographic technology. They are a leading global provider of innovative full spectrum telemetry products, options, and solutions for Environment, Marine, Defence and Security clients. MetOcean Telematics offers products and services across the monitoring system spectrum, from needs assessment, solution design, product selection and development, to satellite connectivity and ongoing monitoring, equipment, and data support.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a critical member of the Executive Leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) plays a pivotal role in shaping strategy as well as guiding the future growth and development of the company. With responsibility for the delivery of all projects, the COO directs the team and resources to ensure the company has the right structure, people and functional capabilities to achieve its strategic growth, while safeguarding the company’s assets and financial stability. 

As the ideal candidate, you have senior leadership experience at the executive level within a technologically advanced manufacturing and product development environment, along with demonstrated business, operations, and financial acumen. A professional engineering designation and MBA, along with international business experience, are preferred. You consistently lead by example with a high degree of integrity and honesty and use a visible management style to develop a collegial culture within your team. You seek opportunities for continuous improvement to organizational workflow and operational processes and are a skilled collaborator and change leader. You have a reputation for being a trusted business advisor who fosters strategic organizational growth and development. You have demonstrated experience resolving operational issues in a client-centric environment. You provide sound overall management of business operations through prudent operational and financial management, including finance, project costing, human resources, marketing, technology, and administration. You have natural interpersonal and communication skills and can build seamless working relationships with leaders across an organization. Detail-oriented, with excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills you possess natural confidence but are low ego and are known as a candid team player who is open-minded and patient in your approach to business. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel. Travel will make up approx. 30% of your time, with ~25% at the UK Office.
