The Senior Mechanical Designers will provide systems and service layouts to the Production Team and also collaborate with a Team of Mechanical Design Leads.  Prodomax supports growth within our Team Members and promotes from within whenever possible – our current team of Mechanical Design Leads will attest to that!

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepare detailed jig and machine design concepts using part data and GDT drawings
  • Specify appropriate purchased components for mechanical assemblies
  • Produce machine design models, drawings and bills of materials for equipment, sub-assemblies or product, using Solidworks 3D solid modeling software
  • Analyze designs and systems for compliance to applicable standards (i.e. OSHA, CSA or customer specific)
  • Manage and interface with outside design contractors
  • Perform load and stress calculations if required
  • Mentor and lead junior designers

 

Key Professional Attributes:

  • Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma
  • 5 - 8+ years of direct working experience with automated welding and assembly equipment
