The Manager of Technical Services and Infrastructure is a newly created position that will play a central role in supporting and managing development pressures as the Township embarks on a significant growth curve.

Leading a small team, and working closely with a dynamic management group in the Public Services Department, the Manager of Technical Services and Infrastructure will oversee internal engineering services, linear asset capital works and the Township’s robust asset management program. This position will also provide technical support to the Township’s Development Services Department (Building/Planning) and play an important role in capital budgeting and procurement activities.

The Manager would typically be involved in or oversee capital works valued at between 7-10 million dollars annually, and will be expected to apply their skills to exciting projects including the future reconstruction of the important Highway 38 corridor and joint construction initiatives with the City of Kingston and other rural neighbors, to name a few.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Post-secondary education in the form of a Degree or College diploma in Engineering or a related field of study.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) OR registration as a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) together with a combination of skills, experience and demonstrated leadership capacity.
  • 5+ years of relevant supervisory or managerial experience in a municipal environment or related public or private sector role.
  • A thorough understanding of the Ontario Provincial Standards Specifications (OPSS) and Drawings (OPSD) and advanced knowledge of applicable software including AutoCAD, GIS, digital communication tools and other related databases.
  • Knowledge of asset management principles and practices, and experience budgeting for and managing municipal capital infrastructure projects.

The salary range for this position is $96,158.40 - $114,462.40. The Township offers a comprehensive benefits package including enrollment in the excellent OMERS pension plan, potential for flexible scheduling, and a progressive and supportive professional development policy.
