Rainwater Systems Manager

Coastal Water Store was established in 2002, with the purpose of providing purified drinking water for offices, industries, local businesses, and private homes in mid-Vancouver Island. We install and service a variety of purifying systems, including single under-the-counter/sink installations or home-wide systems. We are currently looking for a full time Rainwater Systems Manager to help us expand our services and products to target residential properties by designing, installing, repairing, and maintaining rainwater harvesting catchment and filtration systems.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with new clients in the local and rural residential markets, as well as vendors and suppliers for top-quality rain water harvesting systems (RWH)
  • Consult residents on installation, maintenance and products best suited to their needs
  • Plan, organize, and evaluate the operations of rainwater harvesting system installations on-site at residential properties
  • Supervise and monitor the operations, inspections, and maintenance of rainwater harvesting equipment and associated catchment and water filtration systems
  • Prepare detailed preliminary designs for new installations of RWH systems for the unique needs of residential properties
  • Ensure systems are maintained in a safe manner via proactive performance testing and developing maintenance schedules
  • Assist in the diagnoses, servicing, and repair of rainwater harvesting, filtration and catchment systems
  • Prepare employee standards, duties, and schedules
  • Research federal, provincial, and municipal regulatory requirements relating to building codes and ensuring installations comply with codes, regulations, and work safety standards
  • Recruit, supervise, and train employees in rainwater harvesting, water filtration and catchment systems, including proper use of equipment and safety standards; provide formal assistance in technical guidance and training on new services offered by business
  • Meet and coordinate with other senior management

Employment Requirements:

  • Completion of degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related professional engineering degree
  • Minimum 5 years experience in management positions
  • Minimum 5 years experience consulting in water filtration and rainwater catchment systems
  • Knowledge of filtration, sanitation, and water run-off processes
