STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Anchor Concrete is looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for the design of precast concrete structures and provide efficient engineering solutions for various product lines and custom concrete solutions. Your diverse role will work directly with Project Managers/Estimators and assist Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing and Shipping teams to satisfy our customers’ needs and provide an exceptional product that is safe and meets all applicable codes and standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and stamp drawings, calculations, reports and specify materials for manufacturing and construction;

• Develop safe, innovative and efficient designs for both above ground and underground precast concrete products including: bridges and culverts, tanks, retaining walls, custom products and R&D;

• Mentor CET and EIT staff to assist with competitive bids and project manufacturing;

• Provide QVE on specified jobs;

• Other duties as required.

Required Skills:

• Structural design and analysis to applicable codes;

• Working knowledge of OBC S6-16, A23.3-14;

• Excellent communication skills required with ability to effectively communicate with a multi-disciplinary team;

• Demonstrated ability to mentor employees;

• Experience monitoring and supporting concrete quality control program an asset;

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required to design products efficiently;

• Demonstrated organizational and record keeping skills.  Ability to efficiently and accurately plan and organize workload with critical deadlines essential;

• Must be proficient in plan reading;

• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP), Bills of Material (BOM’s) and Routings, and labour scheduling required.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Structural P.Eng. required;

• Experience working with reinforced concrete;

• 5+ years of construction industry experience;

• Technical drafting skills using AUTOCAD.
