Technical Project Manager

A strong sense of customer service, coupled with solid skills in engineering and design are key traits for our current search.  Our client located in Waterloo Region is looking to add a Technical Project Manager, with their P. Eng to their team, to drive the proposal and design process for their clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Function as the prime technical contact providing design leadership and input
  • Provide pre-sales support to Account Managers and quotations group
  • Liaise with client and coordinate with engineering personnel and sales
  • Plan, organize and direct all activities as required for the full implementation of project goals and objectives
  • Ensure that project activities are consistent with the project objectives and that objectives can be met with available resources
  • Ensure the project meets targets, budgets and time-lines, with appropriate reporting and evaluation
  • Develop, complete and finalize all project deliverables according to the timeline
  • Establish and maintain the flow of information and positive working relationships with subcontractors, customers, material suppliers and other internal and external individuals having an interest in the success of the project
  • Building links for collaborative work and sharing information
  • Organize and coordinate the consultations and meetings
  • Ensure and maintain effective and on-going communication with individuals and groups involved directly or indirectly in the project
  • Continually monitor the progress of the project

 

Requirements:

  • 10 years in a similar role
  • P. Eng 
  • PMP certification
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of MS Project
  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks/CAD
  • Valid Canadian passport
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings
  • PLC experience considered an asset
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to produce quality work with little guidance
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience planning, budgeting and estimation of electromechanical work
