The University of Saskatchewan, situated in the vibrant city of Saskatoon on Treaty Six territory and the traditional homeland of the Métis, and on one of Canada’s most beautiful campuses, is grounded in the character of a dynamic, forward-looking province. We have a well-deserved reputation for creativity, collaboration, and achievement. Supported by an innovative, energetic faculty, staff, student, and alumni community, and by a research infrastructure unique in Canada, we deliver across Saskatchewan and beyond one of Canada’s widest arrays of academic and professional programs. Our university’s unique spirit has transformed the lives of those who have experienced it.

With over 100 years of history, the College of Engineering is propelled by a strategic focus on research excellence, a vibrant and well supported student experience, and connection to the community, and a desire to continue its evolution to one of the top engineering schools in the country. As the new Dean you will mentor and inspire almost 150 scholars and staff and over 2,100 students in undergraduate and graduate programs through a period of strategic focus and transformation.

Reporting to the Provost, you will embody the passion, pride, value for diversity, and ambition of the University of Saskatchewan and the College of Engineering.  That spirit is reflected in the culture of the College and the success of its graduates.  Industry is an integral part of academic programs, internships, co-curricular and experiential learning and groundbreaking research in areas including energy, oil and gas, environment, and professional skills training.  The curricular and experiential learning opportunities offered to students create an integrated and interdisciplinary experience that positions graduates to be engaged community leaders.  The new Dean will lead the College into the future, building on a strong foundation of innovative discovery and entrepreneurial spirit.

In addition to your advanced degree and research credentials, your visionary and inspirational senior leadership experience has prepared you to elevate this engineering school to achieve the College’s ambitions.  You will attract and retain outstanding faculty, increase the College’s commitment to research, continue to build a major presence in graduate education, and recruit a diverse and academically promising body of students, with a focus on diversity and increase in Indigenous students.  You will become the College’s chief advocate and relationship builder, working closely with the senior leadership team, alumni and donors in strengthening connections with the local and global communities.

The University of Saskatchewan welcomes diversity and encourages applications from all qualified women and men, including persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, and Indigenous persons.
