The School of Engineering and Faculty of Management invites outstanding individuals to apply for the tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank.  Applicants must have a strong record demonstrating outstanding research and commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Engineering Design and Management.  This will be a joint position: 70% with the Faculty of Applied Science’s School of Engineering, and 30% with the Faculty of Management.

 

 

Applicants must have a Ph.D., in a related discipline and should either have, or be eligible to pursue, registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. The successful candidate in collaboration with existing faculty members will foster and promote entrepreneurship.

 

The Faculty of Applied Science's School of Engineering at UBC's Okanagan campus has assembled world-class faculty and engineering curriculum to offer undergraduate and graduate engineering degrees in Electrical, Civil and Mechanical specializations.  Both the School of Engineering and the Faculty of Management are located in a state-of-the-art building.

 

The Faculty of Management currently offers undergraduate, graduate and professional leadership programs, and participates fully in UBC’s interdisciplinary graduate study program. We focus on leading and managing fast changing organizations in globally connected, non-metropolitan regions. We aim to increase the innovative and creative capability of students in imagining and realizing their future, as well as the futures of others, and to have a major impact in practice on innovation and socio-economic development in different parts of the world, including the Okanagan and British Columbia Interior.

Engineering Design and Management (Job Opening ID #25245)

 

This joint appointment between engineering and management is for researchers with a focus on some combination of the management of product design processes, and the management of business-organizational-social processes.  Topics may include but are not limited to: Design and management of engineering products, services and processes, resource optimization and management, business design, and entrepreneurship, and process design. The candidate should have a strong interest in research and teaching that would be relevant to both engineering and management.
